I'm going to be completely honest here, when the Potty Song CD arrived for us to review, one listen had me wanting to run to bathroom... to hide! I'm not a huge fan of kids music period and a 60 second song about your child going potty seemed an eerie replacement for a parents praise. I asked myself if I would seriously use it with my son, answered no and put it on the back burner.

Fortunately, I happened to leave our potty song CD in the player I share with my almost 2 year old. After breakfast one lazy morning he saunters over and pushes play, I get ready to jump up and offer another tune but quickly sit myself back down when I see his face. He LOVES it! Now before and after he goes potty (and at other random intervals throughout the day) my little guy begs me to play his potty song!

While definitely not a replacement for a Mama's cheers this 50 some second personalized song is a great tool for motivating and congratulating your little guy or gal to use the potty. The simple lyrics and catchy tune are motivating to any little potty-trainee. The Potty Song website also offers training tips and a certificate of achievement you can print when your little one is diaper free.

I would LOVE if they would loop the song so you don't have to push play again every minute, and in the interest of not pushing the marketing machine on my little one, I was a little dismayed when my tot started repeating the "PottySong.Com" mention at the end of the CD. All that aside, we've become huge fans of the Potty Song after seeing it work it's magic and think it's a definite plus in any parents potty arsenal. The kids are sure to love it (even if drives you a little crazy) and anyone who's been through potty training knows, we'll take all the help we can get.
