See Kai Run
Urban FlexSee mama drool. That was the first thing I thought when I saw a picture of the Aki boots [$42] by See Kai Run. As I moved from eyeing the Aki’s, to the Oliver’s, to the Alex’s, I found myself doing a little jig in my seat, thrilled to see such fresh styles available for our funky babies. When our Aki boots arrived at my house, I couldn’t believe how luscious they were in person. I found the leather so soft and buttery, it was positively lick-able. I had but one question: do these boots come in my size, too?
The problem is, all style and no substance won’t get my little prince very far in life, so another question remained: would the See Kai Run’s stand up to a road test? Slipping them on baby was a breeze (see:
buttery leather above), but what’s more, the special rubber soles were
just sturdy enough and just flexible enough to let baby get away with
wearing them months before contemplating his first step. The Aki’s
passed the test, and took names. I was sold! Finally something cute and functional.
In a sea of shoes for pre and new walkers, it's hard to stand out above the crowd. See Kai Run is a family owned and run
company, and each season they churn out line after line of gorgeous and
hip styles for boys and girls. All too often, we mama’s have limited
choices when it comes to baby's footwear. We have to choose between
the way too predictable soft soled shoe, or the “big boy” shoe with a
sole so stiff it's like strapping bricks to your sweet little one's cankles
(let’s face it, all babies have them). Not only are those soles rock
hard, they aren’t healthy for growing bipeds' feet. And no one wants
an unhealthy biped.
Parents everywhere will fall in love with See Kai Run. Just beware: your chances of licking and cuddling a shoe just got really good.
